The 9 most popular apps for iPhone in 2010
According to Digital One, the 9 most popular apps for iPhone in 2010 are :
#1. Facebook: No prizes for guessing that the world's most popular social network would also top the Apple charts as a mobile app.
#2. Angry Birds Lite: The free version (Angry Birds Lite) scored the #2 spot on the list of top free apps in the App store. The paid version (Angry Birds) appears at #2 in the top-grossing iPhone apps and #1 in the top paid apps. Among iPad apps, Angry Birds HD was the fourth favourite paid app, as well as the seventh highest grossing app of 2010. Oh and did we mention Angry Birds Seasons? It seems like everyone has a thing for blowing up pigs.
#3. Words with Friends Free: A Scrabble-like game that lets players challenge friends and strangers. Improve your spelling and word power on the go.
#4. Skype: Skype's mobile app lets users make affordable phone calls, video chats and send instant messages. And with a Wi-Fi connection for free Skype-to-Skype calls, it's never been easier to keep in touch with loved ones in other countries.
#5. Tap Tap Revenge 3: Tap along to popular songs and score points for rhythm and timing. A third installment of this game shows that those fingers can't stop tapping.
#6. The Weather Channel: This app provides detailed local forecasts, extreme weather alerts, current traffic conditions and more so that you won't forget to bring your umbrella.
#7. Paper Toss: Who would've thought that flicking a crumpled-up piece of paper at a trash can could be so mindlessly fun and addictive at the same time?
#8. Bing: Microsoft's mobile search engine features GPS tracking to provide accurate local results.
#9. Rock Band Free: This free version of the popular Rock Band game, just for your fingers. Tap along to your favourite rock hits.

5 reasons not to get the iPhone 4 yet
Apple's fan, this piece of review may disappointed you.
The iPhone 4 officially went on sale in the US and some selected countries on 24 June, and so far tech critics have heaped praise on Apple's latest smartphone device.source : DigitalOne - 27 June 2010
While this is all sure to get every iPhone fan excited and eager to get their hands on the latest version when the iPhone 4 comes to Singapore in July, here are some issues and missing features that might warrant a wait:
#1 - Reception issues
One of the first complaints to surface, many users noticed that their iPhones experienced a diminished or lost reception when they put their hands on the steel band around the middle of the device. This band is the iPhone 4's antenna.
Signal strength, indicated by bars non the top left corner of the iPhone 4's screen, was demonstrated in numerous Youtube videos to have dropped within seconds when the antenna comes into contact with bare skin.
On the Apple community discussion forum MacRumours, iPhone 4 users have also complained of dropped calls or poor reception.
However, other reports have suggested that the visual display indicating reception strength on the phone's screen may not be accurate, and the actual signal strength might be higher than what it is perceived to be.
Several online sites have also reported that Apple is aware of the issue and are working on a fix in the meantime.
So far, no official announcement had been made.
#2 - Yellow tinge on screens
While some customers complain of dropped calls and bad reception, others have been seeing things on the screens of their brand new iPhones.
Yellow lines and spots, to be exact.
Said to feature a super-high quality 'retina display' screen, the iPhone 4 seemed to have hit a snag in the visuals department.
Users have so far complained of the yellow spots appearing in the corners of the smartphone's screen. The lines tend to surface at the top or bottom of the iPhone 4 screens.
Tech website Engadget reported that this was supposedly an issue with the bonding agent drying and should fade in a few days.
However, people who have experienced the problem and made a call to Apple have been told to swap their devices for new ones. This move by Apple might suggest that the problem could be more lasting than just a passing issue.
#3 - Video calling isn't what you think it is
Now that the iPhone 4 has a second camera for video calls, you would assume face-to-face conversations on your shiny new smartphone would be something like Skype, just more mobile.
Well, it turns out that video calls on the iPhone 4 comes with a few asterisks attached: it only works on WiFi, and whoever you're intending to chat with has to use the same application (FaceTime) on his or her iPhone 4.
If you take these prerequisites into consideration, you're probably looking at a pretty small circle of people who fit the criteria.
#4 - Improved camera is still pretty cheap
While its rivals have embraced 8- or even 12-megapixel cameras, the iPhone still has a relatively cheap 5-megapixel camera.
Other phones in its class like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 already pack an 8-megapixel camera, and newer offerings are expected to adopt even better configurations over time.
Although 5-megapixels isn't all that bad, iPhone 4 owners might find their smartphone cameras wanting when bigger, better configurations are featured in rival models.
#5 - Shortage in supply
Apple had already acknowledged that it's iPhone 4 is in short supply, yet preorders for the new smartphone have recently overloaded US telco AT&T's online systems.
Low stocks on launch day might mean that not everyone who wants an iPhone could get one.
As other smartphone makers churn out new models while you wait, something might catch your eye in the meantime.
